Being accepted for who we are is one of our most basic needs as humans. With many pieces adding up to create a whole being, it is hard to find someone who can understand without having to explain every time we see them. Repeated explaining and misunderstanding can lead to a feeling of shame and uncertainty that can damage the therapeutic relationship before it starts. I work from a baseline of understanding to help create a safe space for my clients to learn and grow. Therapy should be a laboratory where you can experiment with how you interact with others and present yourself. You are the expert on you. I’m just here to guide.
I work from a strengths-based perspective with radical acceptance and non-judgement to identify in collaboration with my clients the things about themselves, their communities, and their environments that are serving them, and help them use those things to find a better peace in their lives.
I work with people from the LGBTQ+ community, those who practice kink, engage in polyamorous relationships and consensual non-monogamy, and men experiencing shame, jealousy, or problems with their personal masculinity. I provide life review therapy for elders to find meaning in the late stages of their lives. Geek Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
