After spending 10 years in the U.S. Army as a combat medic and military police officer, Ashley chose to continue her service to others in the field of mental health. She has been a practicing board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for five years but has well over 10 years working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and addiction disorders. Ashley also has a significant history of serving the mental health community within various correctional settings.
Ashley earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology from Drury University, Springfield, MO, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bethel College, North Newton, KS, and her Master of Science in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, KY.
She is graduating with her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2022, also from Eastern Kentucky University. Her DNP project is quality improvement focused and titled, “Streamlining the Referral Process for a Mental Health Clinic: A DNP Project.”
Ashley specializes in psychiatric medication management and medication assisted treatment for opiate use disorders. She thoroughly enjoys assisting others by providing personalized care for every client. She believes it is a priority to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness and barriers associated with obtaining psychiatric care.
